Timber Garden Product Supplier of the Year – Timber Trades Journal Awards

BSW Timber’s remarkable journey to this year’s accolades began with the Timber Garden Product Supplier of the Year award at the renowned Timber Trades Journal (TTJ) Awards. This prestigious event, held at the Hilton Bankside in London in September, marked the 150th anniversary of the TTJ Awards.

Niall Spence, Marketing Manager at BSW Timber, expressed his elation at the recognition, saying: “As a business, we pride ourselves on producing peerless products for all manner of garden projects, and it was an honour to be recognised by the TTJ for this in its 150th year.”

The TTJ Awards have been a staple in the timber industry since 1997, and in 2023, it celebrated its 150th year as a leading event in the sector. This event is designed to bring together key players in the timber and wood product industry, attracting attendees from the UK and around the world. The awards focus on voted and judged categories, recognizing service excellence and product quality across various segments of the timber industry.

Importantly, the voting process for the awards is impartial, with timber buyers casting their votes for the best performing suppliers. Voting is open to customers along the entire supply chain, ensuring a truly democratic selection process.

 

Supplier Account Manager of the Year – Builders Merchants Journal Industry Awards

Less than two weeks after its TTJ Award triumph, BSW Timber received another feather in its cap as Dave Chapman, Sales and Marketing Director at BSW Timber, won the prestigious Supplier Account Manager of the Year award at the Builders Merchants Journal (BMJ) Industry Awards. This accolade is particularly special as it was decided by the professionals themselves – merchants across the country voted for Dave, selecting him as their number one account manager, a testament to his outstanding contributions and leadership.

The BMJ Industry Awards evening showcased the brands, merchants, and hard-working individuals across the industry. Dave’s exceptional role and relationship with independent customers were acknowledged and rewarded, emphasising his dedication to his customers and his excellence leading the BSW Timber independent sales team.

Recently Dave Chapman has also been instrumental in exploring how Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Technology has been enhancing relationships between the timber industry and builders’ merchants in this piece – further solidifying his contribution to the industry.

Strategy Award – Management Consultancies Association Awards

Completing this hat-trick of awards, the wider BSW Group partnered with Propaganda to win the Strategy Award at the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards in October. The collaboration between BSW Group and the Leeds-based business has yielded impressive results and delivered substantial value.

The judges highly praised the work undertaken, noting that it “showed a real demonstration of the power of consulting, in providing strategy work with outstanding value.” James Brennan, Head of Marketing at BSW Group, celebrated this achievement alongside the Propaganda team, who were presented with the prestigious award by Clare Balding CBE.

Brennan shared his thoughts on the win, saying: “With such prestigious competition in the strategy category, it was fantastic to even be nominated for such an award. So, for us to actually win it alongside Propaganda was amazing.”

The strategic work carried out by Propaganda has been instrumental in introducing BSW Group as a brand and positioning it as a leader in the sector. The rebranding efforts have continued to deliver strong results, and it’s a source of great pride for the team to have these endeavours formally recognized at such a high level.
