At BSW Group we know how important it is to look after the future of our planet. We’ve been caring about our impact on the world since 1848. As a business, we have a goal of contributing positively to the transition to a carbon-neutral world through the control of our greenhouse gas emissions.

As a Group, we have already measured our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, and are currently in the process of mapping out our Scope 3 emissions. We are committed to being part of the solution to reduce carbon emissions through more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.

One way in which we are helping to tackle our carbon emissions is through our use of biomass, having estimated that the greenhouse gas emissions saved from company usage of biomass boilers, rather than conventional natural gas boilers, is 26,212 tCO2e. This is equivalent to planting 443,000 seedlings, with each sequestering ten years’ worth of carbon.

As BSW is on the journey to becoming carbon neutral, our strategy over the coming years is to continue to reduce our carbon emissions and promote sustainability in everything we do as a business.
